  • IBM System Storage N series, Network Appliance, or EMC Celerra NAS file server running NDMP Version 3 or 4. For supported models and operating systems, refer to: http://www.ibm.com/tivoli/storage
  • Any other NAS file server that supports guidelines specified by Tivoli Storage Manager and which supports NDMP Version 4. NAS Vendors on the Ready for IBM Tivoli software list follow guidelines to implement NDMP as specified by Tivoli Storage Manager. File servers on the list have generally undergone tests to ensure they are compatible with Tivoli Storage Manager. For a list of NAS file servers that are certified through the Ready for IBM Tivoli software, visit: http://catalog.lotus.com/wps/portal/topal, browse by "Tivoli Products" and select "Tivoli Storage Manager for NDMP".
  • Tape drive and tape library. For supported combinations, refer to: http://www.ibm.com/tivoli/storage
One of the following operating systems for the Tivoli Storage Manager server
  • Windows Server 2003
  • Windows 2003 64 bit SP1
  • AIX 64 bit
  • Solaris 64 bit
  • HP 64 bit
  • Linux

( TSM supports NDMP on all the operating systems that is supported by the TSM Extended Edition Server except for the z/OS operating system.		One of the following software products is a prerequisite for performing NDMP backup/restore operations:
  • A Tivoli Storage Manager Extended Edition V5.5 server
  • A Tivoli Storage Manager Extended Edition V5.5 backup-archive client on Windows, Sun Solaris (32 bit or 64 bit), or AIX (32 bit or 64 bit) can be used for initiating volume-level backup and restore operations. To use a Web client to display files from a volume backup and select individual files to be restored, you must have a Windows Web client and a Web browser which can run on any platform.
