Comments

  • The NetView for z/OS Discovery Library Adapter for TCP/IP (DLA)
extracts TCP/IP resources and relationships from the NetView for
z/OS RODM data cache, formats the data into an output XML file,
and sends that managed resource information to the IBM Tivoli
Change and Configuration Management Database (CCMDB). Source
data comes from NetView via the NetView for z/OS MultiSystem
    Manager (MSM) IP agent.

NetView for z/OS TCP/IP data in the CCMDB database enables
consuming applications, such as the Tivoli Application
Dependency Discovery Manager (TADDM) to locate resources
discovered by other providers, such as an FTP Server or Router,
in a TCP/IP network. This resource correlation helps operators
and network analysts to solve outages and improve configuration
and change management. Of particular value is the synergy in
CCMDB between TCP/IP z/OS resources discovered by NetView for
z/OS and z/OS resources discovered by the DLA.

The function is implemented with a new command, CNMDLAR, which
gathers TCP/IP data from the NetView for z/OS RODM data cache
and forwards it to a CCMDB server.

For more information about this function, refer to the CNMREAD4
    file shipped with this maintenance.
