Important Note on Using DRF to Backup DBSPACE with More Than 4 Million Pages

 Flash (Alert)

Abstract
Attention: All Data Restore Feature (DRF) users

Content
A customer reported that the application of Data Restore Feature (DRF) BACKUP and LOG archive generated ARIY119 09 abend. After analysis, we discovered that DRF did not backup any DBSPACE if it was larger than 4,194,176 pages at DRF archive time. Any backup generated using DRF with DBSPACE(s) larger than 4,194,176 pages is not a complete database backup. In order to retain a complete and restorable archive set, please backup your database immediately using DB2 for VSE&VM by issuing SQLEND ARCHIVE DVERIFY. Then contact your local IBM Support Team for temporary fixes for either PQ51776(V6.1) or PQ51896(V7.1), until official PTFs are availble.
