5.0 PATCH IMAGE DIRECTORY CONTENTS =================================== This image contains the following files:
- 6.1.0-TIV-ITM_INTAG-IF0009 - Monitoring Agent for IBM Tivoli Monitoring 5.x Endpoint product files
NOTE: You must install this image on each Tivoli management region server and Tivoli gateway of LCF endpoints associated with ITM 5.x resources to be managed. You must have Monitoring Agent for IBM Tivoli Monitoring 5.x Endpoint, Version 6.1.0 and Monitoring Agent for IBM Tivoli Monitoring 5.x Endpoint, Version 6.1.0, Fix Pack 001 installed on these managed nodes.
6.1 Applying the patch ----------------------- Use the following steps to apply the patch:
1) On a UNIX system:
Extract the contents of the tar file to a scratch directory.
# cd <scratch directory> # tar -xvf 6.1.0-TIV-ITM_INTAG-IF0009.tar
This will create a <patch-name> directory. For the purpose of this release note, assume that the symbol $PATCH points to this directory.
On a Windows system:
Extract the contents of the tar file to a scratch directory.
> %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\Tivoli\setup_env > cd <scratch directory> > tar -xvf 6.1.0-TIV-ITM_INTAG-IF0009.tar
NOTE: If you are extracting the tar image on a Windows system, you will find an executable for tar in the TME installation under bin/w32-ix86/tools/tar.exe.
This will create a <patch-name> directory. For the purpose of this release note, assume that the symbol %PATCH% points to this directory.
2) If you are using IBM Tivoli Monitoring, issue the following command to stop the monitoring engine on all endpoints that may be affected by this patch:
# wdmcmd -stop -e <endpoint>.
3) Use the following steps to install the patch using the Tivoli install mechanism.
NOTE: You must have the install_product and super authorization roles to successfully install this patch.
a) Select the "Install -> Install Patch..." option from the "Desktop" menu to display the "Install Patch" dialog box.
b) Click "Select Media..." to display the "File Browser" dialog box.
c) Enter the path to the directory containing the patch, $PATCH, in the "Path Name:" field.
d) Click "Set Media & Close" to return to the "Install Patch" dialog box.
e) The patch install list now contains the name of the patch. Select the patch by clicking on it.
f) Select the clients to install this patch on. To ensure the correct distribution of updated binary files, you must install to gateway nodes prior to installing the Tivoli Management Region server.
g) Click "Install" to install the patch.
4) Distribute the patched Integration Agent to your endpoints using the -u option to the witm61agt command. This will upgrade the binaries on the system without changing your previous configuration. For example:
# witm61agt -u <endpoint>
5) Restart IBM Tivoli Monitoring on the affected endpoints, using the following command:
# wdmcmd -restart -e <endpoint>
