Where can I find books about the DB2 for z/OS
 
Answer
You can use the Web to access DB2® for z/OS™ books in a variety of ways:
  • HTML format (great for searching for specific topics)
  • PDF format (ideal for printing complete or individual sections of books)
  • Ordering printed books from IBM®
  • Accessing online copies of licensed books on the Web

To access DB2 for z/OS books on the Web in HTML format:
  1. Go to the DB2 library Web page at: www.ibm.com/software/data/db2/os390/library.html
  2. Enter a search argument in the search box. A box with a list of "hits" to the books opens.
  3. Link from the list to the information you want.
  4. To download the book to your workstation, click the icon that shows books and down arrows in the opened book.

To access DB2 for z/OS books on the Web in PDF format:
  1. Go to the DB2 library Web page at: www.ibm.com/software/data/db2/os390/library.html
  2. Take the link that is associated with the version of DB2 for z/OS that you are using.
  3. Click the PDF button next to the book you want to view or print. The book opens.
  4. Navigate through the book by using the table of contents in the left frame.
  5. To print the entire book, click the printer icon, and print the book on one of your printers.
  6. To print only a small section of the book, locate the section you are interested in, click the printer icon, and specify on the Print window the range of pages you want to print.
  7. To save the PDF on your workstation for easy reference, select File->Save as.

To order books from the IBM Publication Center on the Web:
At the IBM Publication Center on the Web, you can find IBM publications, add them to a shopping cart, and do a purchase online. Alternatively, you can choose the online versions and view, search, print, and download without a fee any of the available files. The DB2 books are available in these formats, free of charge, with the exception of the licensed book.

Visit the IBM Publication Center at: www.elink.ibmlink.ibm.com/public/applications/publications/cgibin/pbi.cgi
  1. Select a country.
  2. Select Search for Publications. Specify the publication order number, if you know it.
  3. Select Advanced Search if you do not know the publication order number.
  4. Specify specific search words, such as "DB2 OS/390 V7." Be as specific as possible to limit the number of items that are in the list of returned items.
  5. Select All of the words from the drop-down menu.
  6. Select All publications.
  7. Click Go.
    To access licensed books on IBM Resource Link
    If you want to access an online copy of the DB2 Diagnosis Guide and Reference, which is a licensed book, you can use IBM Resource Link. To do this, you need to supply a valid license number.
