Fix Central download enhancement for Informix products

| | | Abstract | | Beginning June 1st, 2007, Informix product fixes will be made available through the Fix Central download site. | | | | Content | Beginning June 1st, 2007, IBM Informix will begin utilizing Fix Central as the download site for product fixes.
Initially, the following Informix products will be accessible using the new Fix Central site, http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral: - Informix Dynamic Server 9.40.xC9 (and later)
- Informix Dynamic Server 10.00.xC6 (and later)
- Client SDK 2.90.xC4R1 (and later) for UNIX platforms
- Client SDK 2.90.TC6R1 (and later) for Windows platforms
The benefits of Fix Central - The ability to find fixes by product, operating system, and/or release; or by APAR ID or fix ID.
- Automatic detection and download of prerequisites along with requested fix(es).
- Ultimately, a single download source for all IBM Software Group and Systems and Technology Group products.
How do you use Fix Central
Access Fix Central: http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral
Select the Product family Information Management to begin navigating to find the fix you would like to download. - Anyone with access to the Internet can access the Fix Central web site to view and search.
- Informix products require an IBM Web Identity account (available with a free, one-time registration) and an active support subscription in order to download entitled product(s).
If you explore the other menu options in Fix Central, you will find that you can use Fix Central to obtain fixes for many IBM products, but that several of the other software brand links will take you to the ibm.com/support pages. Over time, all software products will adopt Fix Central, creating a central source for obtaining your fixes.
Informix fix packs will also remain in Passport Advantage at this time.
