Abstract
If you upgrade to or from IDS 11.50.xC5W2 without closing all transactions, then the server might terminate or corrupt data during the upgrade.

Upgrading to or from IDS 11.50.xC5W2 may terminate the server or corrupt data if transactions are not closed before the upgrade. All transactions must be closed and the server must be shut down gracefully before starting the new IDS version. A graceful shutdown alone will not complete precommitted or heuristically aborted global transactions. These transactions must be terminated before the upgrade. Both the onstat -x and onstat -G commands display global transactions and can be used to verify that no open transactions exist at the time of the shutdown.

APAR IC63443 is used to track this issue.

IDS 11.50.xC5W3 replaces 11.50.xC5W2 and includes the fix for APAR IC63443. It is available on Fix Central now.
