Error: '1327 invalid drive x:' occurs when installing SmartSuite
Technote (FAQ)
Question
When trying to install Lotus SmartSuiteĀ® 9.8, you receive the following error message:
Error 1327 invalid drive x:
Answer
This error refers to an path pointing to an incorrect drive in the Microsoft Windows Registry. You can work around this issue by removing the incorrect entry. Refer to Document #1225281, "SmartSuite or Organizer installs to an incorrect or external drive," for guidance in removing Registry entries that reference an incorrect drive. NOTE: These entries are established each time a user executes the application. If users have data backed up to an external drive and attempt to lauch a file, Windows will write to the Registry keys. This is a function of the Registry and not a design issue in SmartSuite. For further assistance, contact Microsoft Technical Support.
In some situations, there is no entry in the Registry and using the Control Panel to remove Lotus Organizer or another SmartSuite application is unsuccessful. In these cases, use the following steps:
1. Delete the installation files from your workstation.
2. Recycle the client
3. Download the product executable files and perform the installation again.
