Abstract

This document contains the detailed system requirements for IBM® Lotus® Sametime® Entry 8.5.1

Content

Refer to the Lotus Sametime Standard 8.5.1 system requirements for similar information.

The Detailed System Requirements below list supported components that have undergone compatibility testing by IBM. IBM recommends that customers always use operating systems, web browsers, devices or applications listed in the application's system requirements; any variance has some level of risk because the combination has not been tested, and is not supported by IBM. If a supported OS, or browser that is listed in the System Requirements has a new version released, IBM Lotus Support may provide support through the IBM PMR process on a case-by-case basis under the guidelines below.

  • IBM Support will accept problem reports (PMRs) relating to using these newer and untested operating systems, and browser releases and will validate on a case-by-case basis whether IBM can provide technical support.
  • Any technical support for such nonconforming applications will be provided by IBM on an "as-is" basis. IBM cannot guarantee that any OS or browser not listed in the System Requirements will result in a Sametime code fix, workaround or other satisfactory problem resolution or will be fully supported in a later release of Sametime.

In certain scenarios, Technotes or APARs on the Sametime Support site document known problems or cases where IBM has determined that a particular device, operating system, browser, or software application cannot be integrated with the Sametime software platform without extensive testing or extensive code changes.

  • For Audio/Video - 256MB of video memory required for VGA and above; Minimal 128MB of video memory for QVGA resolution and below.

  • 2 GB physical memory (RAM) recommended, 1GB minimum
Community Server
  • 4 GB physical memory (RAM) minimum*

    *correct sizing needed depending on the organization size.
Other hardware Connect Client
  • For Linux, V4L2 UVC cameras only.
Processor Connect Client
  • Windows: Intel Pentium 4, 1.2 GHz or higher and compatibles, or equivalents
  • Linux: Processor capable of supporting the supported operating systems
  • Mac: Intel processors only
