Abstract
Using Internet Explorer 6 or 7, users are unable to get into a meeting on a 7.5.x or 8.0.x server.

Using Microsoft® Internet Explorer (IE) 6 or 7, users are unable to attend meetings on a Lotus® Sametime® 7.5.x or 8.0.x server.

Symptoms
The browser's status shows:
STMeetingRoomApplet notinited

The java console shows:

Comments
- Issue is not related to the JVM version being used.
- Issue is not reproducible using a Firefox browser.
- Some customers have noted similar problems when port 1533 is not open on the firewall between the server and clients


Cause
This issue is the result of a defect in Internet Explorer 6 and 7 and its ability to handle code base attributes for the <OBJECT> tag.

Resolution
To address the issue, end-users' workstations must be updated with the Internet Explorer patch provided by Microsoft. Below are direct links to the patches:
