Abstract
This document contains the detailed system requirements for the 8.5 release of the Lotus Notes® client, Lotus® Domino Designer® client, and Lotus® Domino® Administrator client.

Notes Client (standard configuration)

Microsoft Windows

    Supported versions

  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional (32-bit), Service Pack 2 or later
  • Microsoft Windows XP for Tablet PC
  • Microsoft Windows Vista (32-bit): Enterprise, Ultimate and Business Editions
  • Microsoft Windows Vista for Tablet PC

    Processors

  • Intel Pentium or higher and compatibles, or equivalents
  • Windows XP - Pentium 4, 1.2 GHz or higher
  • Windows Vista - Pentium 4, 1.2 GHz or higher
    RAM
  • Windows XP - 512 MB minimum; 1 GB or more strongly recommended
  • Windows Vista - 1 GB minimum; 1.5 GB or more strongly recommended

    Disk space

  • Install directory (C:\) - 900 MB or more recommended
    Video
  • Hardware support for OpenGL

    Monitor

  • Color monitor required
  • 1024x768 screen resolution minimum
    Protocols
  • NetBIOS over IP (only Microsoft TCP/IP is supported)
  • NetBIOS over IPX (Both Novell NetBIOS and Microsoft NetBIOS over IPX are supported.)
  • TCP/IP (includes IPv6)

Linux

    Supported versions

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) 10 XGL (32-bit), Service Pack 2
  • RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.2 Desktop (32-bit)
    Note: AIGLX is not supported, and must be disabled
  • Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Desktop Edition (32-bit)

  • Intel Pentium or higher and compatibles, or equivalents
  • Pentium 4, 1.2 GHz or higher
    RAM
  • 512 MB minimum
  • 1 GB or more strongly recommended

  • Install directory (/opt) - 1.5 GB minimum

  • 128 MB video RAM (with XGL-compatible video driver from hardware OEM for SLED 10)
  • /etc/X11/xgl-hardware-list

  • TCP/IP (includes IPv6)

Macintosh

    Supported versions

  • Mac OS X 10.5. Mac OS X 10.5.5 is the minimum version within Mac OS X 10.5

  • Intel only
    RAM
  • 1 GB minimum

    Disk space

  • Install directory (/Applications) - 2 GB or more recommended
    Video
  • 32 MB video RAM or more recommended

    Monitors

  • Color monitor required, 256 colors or greater
  • 1024x768 screen resolution minimum
    Protocols
  • TCP/IP (includes IPv6)

Citrix support statement - The Notes standard client is supported on Citrix Presentation Server 4.5, on Windows 2003 server (32- and 64-bit), using Citrix ICA (Independent Computing Architecture) clients.
