Abstract
This document contains the detailed system requirements for the 8.0.2 release of the Lotus® Notes® client, Lotus Domino® Designer client, and Lotus Domino Administrator client.

Notes client (standard configuration)
Supported platforms
  • Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional; Service Pack 2, Service Pack 3, and future service packs are supported
  • Microsoft Windows XP for Tablet PC
  • Microsoft Windows Vista: Enterprise, Ultimate, and Business Editions
  • Microsoft Windows Vista for Tablet PC
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) 10 XGL
  • RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.1 - Note: AIGLX and SELinux must be disabled
  • Macintosh OS Intel 10.5.1 (Notes 8.0.2 client - Beta preview only)
Hardware requirements
  • Processors
    Intel Pentium or higher and compatibles, or equivalents
    Windows XP - Pentium 4, 1.2 GHz or higher
    Windows Vista - Pentium 4, 1.2 GHz or higher
    Linux (SLED 10) - Pentium 4, 1.2 GHz or higher
    Linux (RHEL 5) - Pentium 4, 1.2 GHz or higher
    Macintosh OS - Intel
  • RAM
    Windows XP: 512 MB RAM minimum; 1 GB or more recommended
    Windows Vista: 1 GB minimum; 1.5 GB or more strongly recommended
    Linux: 512 MB RAM minimum; 1 GB or more recommended
    Macintosh OS: 512 MB RAM minimum; 1 GB or more recommended
  • Disk space
    Windows: Install directory (C:\) - 900 MB minimum disk space or more recommended
    Linux: Install directory (/opt) - 1.5 GB or more recommended
    Macintosh OS: Install directory (/Applications) - 1 GB or more recommended
  • Video
    Windows: Hardware support for OpenGL
    Linux (SLED 10): 128 MB video RAM with XGL-compatible video driver from hardware OEM for OS; /etc/X11/xgl-hardware-list
    Linux (RHEL 5): 128 MB video RAM; /etc/X11/xgl-hardware-list
    Macintosh OS: 32 MB video RAM or more recommended
  • Color monitor required
Protocols supported
  • NetBIOS over IP1 (Windows platform only)
  • NetBIOS over IPX2 (Windows platform only)
  • TCP/IP
  • TCP/IP IPV6
  • X.PC (Windows, Macintosh platforms only)
Citrix support statementThe Notes standard client is supported on Citrix Presentation Server 4.5, on Windows 2003 server (32- and 64-bit), using Citrix ICA (Independent Computing Architecture) clients.

    Windows XP: 128 MB RAM minimum; 256 MB or more recommended
    Windows Vista: 1 GB minimum
    Macintosh OS: 256 MB RAM minimum; 512 MB or more recommended
  • Disk space
    Windows: 512 MB minimum disk space or more recommended
    Macintosh OS: 512 MB or more recommended
  • Video
    Windows: Color monitor required
    Macintosh OS: Color monitor required, 256 colors or greater

  • NetBIOS over IP1 (Windows platform only)
  • NetBIOS over IPX2 (Windows platform only)
  • TCP/IP
  • X.PC
Citrix support statementThe Notes basic client is supported on Citrix Presentation Server 4.5, on Windows 2003 server (32- and 64-bit), using Citrix ICA (Independent Computing Architecture) clients.
1 Only Microsoft TCP/IP is supported.
2 Both Novell NetBIOS and Microsoft NetBIOS over IPX are supported.

    Windows Vista: 1 GB minimum; 1.5 GB or more strongly recommended
  • Disk space
    Install directory (C:\) - 960 MB disk space or more recommended
  • Video
    Color monitor required
