Domino Document Manager announcement of end of life

 Technote (FAQ)

Question
When does support for Lotus Domino Document Manager 6.5.1 or 7.0 end? Will there be a Domino Document Manager version that is tested and supported for use with Notes or Domino versions later than Notes/Domino 7.x?

Answer
IBM has announced end dates for the Lotus Domino Document Manager product as follows:

    End of Marketing - May 12, 2009
    End of Support - September 20, 2012

More information on the end of life is available in the Announcement Letter:

Because there will be no future versions of the Lotus Domino Document Manager product, there will be no versions of Document Manager tested or supported for use with Notes/Domino 8.x or 8.5.x.

Refer to "Domino.Doc Compatibility Matrices for Client, Server, and Web Browser" (#7002980) for a list of all versions of Notes/Domino that are supported with Domino Document Manager. For migration information, refer to "Self Assessment and Strategy Guide for Migrating from Domino Document Manager" (planned publish date of 31 August 2009).

Excerpt from the software withdrawal announcement letter:

"Customers who are current on Software Maintenance for the products being replaced will receive their next Software Maintenance renewal quotes for the replacement products as specified, which will allow them to use the replacement products as follows:
    • Each current Software Maintenance entitlement for Domino Document Manager V6.5.1 authorized user license will be replaced by one IBM Lotus Quickr™ Authorized User Software Maintenance renewal
    • Each current Software Maintenance entitlement for Lotus Domino Document Manager V7.0.0 authorized user license will be replaced by one IBM Lotus Quickr Authorized User Software Maintenance renewal
Customers will have the option to exchange the Lotus Quickr authorized user entitlement that was received as a replacement for Domino Document Manager (either version) with one of the following:
    • IBM Content Manager Collaboration Edition V8.0 or
    • IBM FileNet Content Manager Collaboration Edition V8.0
This selection of an alternative replacement product will be a manual process that will take place after the initial entitlement has occurred.

Contact your IBM representative for more information."
