Does Lotus Domino support Sender Policy Framework (SPF)?

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Does Domino server support Sender Policy Framework? Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an extension to the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP).

Answer

Domino does not perform SPF checks for incoming SMTP mail. An enhancement request for a future release has been submitted to Quality Engineering as SPR# RCE5XZQTT (APAR LO42814). For outbound SMTP mail, support from Domino is not needed, but rather the appropriate DNS records for SPF has to be created.

Supporting Information

Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an extension to the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). It allows for domain owners to publish SPF records specifying which machines they permit to use their domain in the MAIL FROM or HELO during mail transfers. Compliant mail receivers can use these published SPF records to confirm the sending MTAs (Message Transfer Agent) authorization to send mail.
