DAMO: Calendar Custom Repeating Appointments do not synchronize in DAMO/Outlook

 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem

Existing Custom Repeating Appointments on your Notes Client are update/delete and then you realize that the changes are not synchronized/updated correctly in DAMO

This issue is reproducible on both DAMO 802IF4 and 802IF5 using Outlook 2007

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1- Open Calendar on the Notes Client

2- Select New>>Appointment

3- Select the date and time for the appointment

4- Click on "Repeat" and under "when the meeting repeats" choose "Custom"
5- Choose the date you would like to repeat this meeting and then click on the "Add selected date" button to add the date to the "Enter the List of Dates". In this case customer had the meeting repeat for 6 weeks

6- Select OK after choosing the dates, then do a "Save & Close" for the appointment
7- Confirm that the appointments have synched and show in Outlook/DAMO
8- Back to the Notes Client Calendar, delete or update one of the appointments
9- Synch with DAMO/Outlook by pressing F9

RESULTS:
* Outlook IS updated correctly when DELETING Appointments with any of the options, "Just this instance", "All Instances", "This instance and all Future Instances", "This instance and all Previous Instances"

* Outlook IS NOT updated correctly when making changes to the time of the appointment with the following options:

Update an appointment (i.e. change the time for the apt from 9am to 11am) with "just this instance" option RESULTS: The 9am apt remainS in Outlook BUT addS the updated 11am apt. You can open both the original apt and the updated one in Outlook

Update an appointment (i.e. change the time for the apt from 4pm to 5pm) with "All instances" option RESULTS: The updates do not take effect. The appointment times remain at 4pm for all instances in Outlook

Update an appointment (i.e. change the time for the apt from 9am to 10am) with "This instance and All future instances" option
RESULTS: The updates do not take effect. The appointment times remain at 9am for all instances and future ones in Outlook

Update (i.e. change the time for the apt from 3:30pm to 4:30pm) with "This instance and All previous instances" option
RESULTS: The apt times remain at 3:30pm for all instances and previous ones in Outlook
This problem is only with the custom repeating appointment. Other entries in the Calendar seem to work correctly

Symptom
Outlook doesn't have the option for custom appointment events
