Problem
Move data directory of Domino Server to different drive
 
Symptom
hard disk where domino server is installed is running out of space
 
Resolving the problem
Note : Make sure to take backup of data directory & notes.ini
A ) To move only DATA

1. move data directory from one drive to another drive

OLD Directory = C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus

New Directory = D:\Lotus\Domino

2. Open notes.ini & change the data directory path wherever necessary

As far as i know following need to change at least

Old entries

Directory= C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Domino\Data
KeyFilename=C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Domino\Data
CertifierIDFile=C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Domino\Data

New entries

Directory=D:\Lotus\Domino\Data
KeyFilenameD:\Lotus\Domino\Data
CertifierIDFile=D:\Lotus\Domino\Data


3. Start the domino server


B ) To move both Program & Data directory

1. Uninstall lotus program

2. Install lotus program on different drive

Old path = C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Domino\

New path = D:\Lotus\Domino\

3. Copy DATA directory to new data path

Old path =C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Domino\Data

New Path =D:\Lotus\Domino\Data

4. Copy notes.ini to new program directory path

New Path = D:\Lotus\Domino\
