Using Integrity Checker in DLI batch and APF authorization

Question & Answer

Question

Does the Load Module Library need to be APF-authorized when I use IMS™ Library Integrity Utilities for z/OS® in DLI batch mode?

Answer

No, the LIU Load Library specified in the STEPLIB DD card does not have to be APF-authorized when running in DLI batch mode.

The LIU load library must be APF-authorized when running Online. See the LIU User's Guide, Chapter 2, approximately page 12, under the heading 'The STEPLIB DD'.

In shops where Application Load Libraries are not allowed to be APF-authorized, the Integrity Checker function of LIU can be used in DLI batch jobs without APF authorization.
