Question

What is the purpose of SAMPLE members CQMAPPLY, CQMAPPL1, CQMACCEP and CQMACCE1?

Cause

DB2 Query Monitor ships SAMPLE library members CQMAPPLY and CQMAPPL1 for the SMP/E APPLY step and CQMACCEP & CQMACCE1 for the SMP/E ACCEPT step. It may be difficult to know which SAMPLE APPLY job to run, CQMAPPLY or CQMAPPL1, and which SAMPLE ACCEPT job to run, CQMACCEP or CQMACCE1.

Answer

The difference is whether you have ordered and received

  • DB2 Query Monitor "Standard Edition" or
  • DB2 Query Monitor "SAP Edition".

Customers ordering QM "Standard Edition" receive the following three FMIDs:
  • H238230 - DB2 Query Monitor
  • H238KN0 - DB2 Query Monitor Standard Edition Identifier
    (contains a module identifying this instance as Standard Edition)
  • H25F132 - FEC Common Code

All three FMIDs must be installed to successfully run DB2 Query Monitor.
IBM provides the following SAMPLE jobs for the SMP/E APPLY and ACCEPT:
  • CQMAPPLY is an example for applying FMIDS H238230 and H25F132.
  • CQMAPPL1 is an example for applying FMID H238KN0.
  • CQMACCEP is an example for accepting FMID H238230 and H25F132.
  • CQMACCE1 is an example of accepting FMID H238KN0.

Customers ordering QM "SAP Edition" receive the following three FMIDs:
  • H238230 - DB2 Query Monitor
  • H238KY0 - DB2 Query Monitor SAP Edition Identifier
    (contains a module identifying this instance as SAP Edition)
  • H25F132 - FEC Common Code

All three FMIDs must be installed to successfully run DB2 Query Monitor.

For example:
The Program Directory for DB2 Query Monitor v2.3 Standard Edition contains installation instructions for FMIDs H238230, H238KN0, H25F132.

So, both samples CQMAPPLY and CQMAPPL1 for SMP/E APPLY should be run, along with both samples CQMACCEP and CQMACCE1 for SMP/E ACCEPT.
