Question & Answer
Question
How do I migrate DB2 High Performance Unload for z/OS (DB2 HPU) when I need to upgrade DB2 for z/OS but not upgrade DB2 HPU?
Cause
You are upgrading DB2 for z/OS to a new release or mode, and you must prepare DB2 HPU for the DB2 upgrade.
Answer
Starting in DB2 HPU V4.2, you must use IBM Tools Customizer for z/OS (Tools Customizer) to customize DB2 HPU.
Complete the following steps by using Tools Customizer, which you used to initially customize DB2 HPU locally.
- Specify the *.SINZDENU DB2 HPU metadata library on the Specify the Metadata Library panel in Tools Customizer.
- On the Customizer Workplace panel (CCQPWRK), edit the DB2 entry that you are migrating.
- Under the General DB2 Information heading on the DB2 Parameters panel (CCQPDB2), change the value in the Mode field from CM to NFM.
- Make any other necessary changes, if necessary.
- Press PF3 to return to the Customizer Workplace panel (CCQPWRK).
- Specify G against the DB2 entry that you are migrating to generating the DB2 HPU customization job for this DB2 entry.
- Edit the generated JCL, if necessary, and submit the four generated jobs, after you migrate the DB2 subsystem to NFM.
The following example shows jobs that are generated:
