Troubleshooting
Problem
After customizing DB2 High Performance Unload for z/OS V4.2 (DB2 HPU) by using IBM Tools Customizer for z/OS (Tools Customizer), DB2 HPU jobs fail with the following message: PLIB002E : SYNTAX ERROR ON LINE 1 IN THE MEMBER xxxxxxxx OF THE PARMLIB where xxxxxx may be INZDDDEF or INZDB2SK, etc.
Cause
In DB2 HPU V4.1 and previous releases, you were allowed to specify the SINZSAMP data set as the PARMLIB. However, in DB2 HPU V4.2, specifying the SINZSAMP data set as the PARMLIB is not allowed.
Resolving The Problem
If you specified the SINZSAMP data set in the PARMLIB library (INZPLIB/INFPLIB) field on the LPAR Parameters panel in Tools Customizer, complete the following steps:
- Create a separate PARMLIB data set to be specified in the PARMLIB library (INZPLIB/INFPLIB) field on the LPAR Parameters panel in Tools Customizer. Ensure that you specify DCB RECFM=FB,LRECL=80 for this data set.
- Regenerate the DB2 HPU customization JCL to update the new PARMLIB member.
If you created a new PARMLIB PDS as directed and the problem persists,
ensure that the new PARMLIB PDS is empty. If the PARMLIB PDS is not empty, complete the following steps:
- Delete all members in the new PARMLIB PDS specified in the "PARMLIB library (INZPLIB/INFPLIB)" field of the Tools Customizer LPAR Parameters panel CCQPLPR.
- Rerun the Tools Customizer generated jobs starting with the job associated to template INZTVAR.
