Cumulative APARs per month

Starting August 16, 2009, one cumulative documentation APAR is opened per release per month and is based on the primary release in the PMR in which the issue occurred. The problem conclusion section of the APAR includes a description of the completed changes. The following table lists the cumulative APARs for the month and links to the closing text.

Additional changes are made to the information centers based on non-PMR feedback. The following information provides an overview of the major changes:

• Updates for a specific fix pack are identified in the information centers with fix pack icons.
  
  
• New custom properties are documented in the Reference > Custom properties section of each information center.
  
  
• The Application Programming Interfaces (API), System Programming Interfaces (SPI), and Mbean documentation is updated to correspond with each product service release.

November 2009 update

• Version 7.0.0.7: The createIdMgrLDAPRepository, updateIdMgrLDAPRepository, and updateIdMgrRepository commands have been updated with a supportChangeLog parameter. This parameter enables you to indicate whether a federated repository tracks changes.
  
  
• Version 7.0.0.7: Information has been added on the following new federated repository-related commands:
  • addIdMgrPropertyToEntityTypes
  • deleteIdMgrPropertyExtensionEntityData
  • listIdMgrPropertyExtensions
    
    
• Version 7.0.0.7: Information has been added on manually setting up a property extension repository. For more information, see the following topics:

• Version 7.0.0.7: Information has been added on how to set up an application server to use other Java™ API for XML-Based Web Services (JAX-WS) run times. For more information, see Using a third-party JAX-WS Web services engine.
  
  
• Version 7.0.0.7: The documentation describes enhanced functionality for the extendedDocumentRoot JavaServer Pages (JSP) and file serving attributes. This enhancement enables you to specify a WebSphere variable as the value for the extendedDocumentRoot attribute. For more information, see WebSphere Variables.
  
  

• In the Version 7.0 Information Center, the Choosing a front end for your WebSphere Application server topology topic is new. This topic compares the functionality for a Web server plug-in, a WebSphere Proxy Server, and a DMZ Secure Proxy Server for IBM WebSphere Application Server. The Version 6.1 and 6.0 Information Centers contain a version of this new topic that compares the functionality of a Web server plug-in to a WebSphere Proxy Server.
  
  
• In the Version 7.0 Information Center, the Introduction: Dynamic cache and Configuring dynamic cache (DynaCache) to use the WebSphere eXtreme Scale dynamic cache provider topics have been updated. These two topics contain some additional information on how to use WebSphere eXtreme Scale with WebSphere Application Server.

September 2009 update

The following topics are new or contain significant updates

• Configuring the dynamic cache service to use the WebSphere eXtreme Scale dynamic cache provider.
  
  
• Monitoring the inactivity of WebSphere MQ Java™ Message Service (JMS) server sessions.
  
  
• Configuring a Web server plug-in for Sun Java System Web Server Versions 6.1 and 7.0 (64-bit) and Lotus Domino Versions 7 and 8.
  
  
• Configuring the RACF adapter for the user registry bridge feature with federated repositories.

The information centers are updated on a monthly basis. The following information lists the approximate dates for the monthly updates through June 2010. This list includes the updates for all of the supported distributed, IBM i, and z/OS operating systems for WebSphere Application Server.
