Content
Alloy by IBM and SAP is available on a Domino 8.0.2 server with an Alloy client plug-in installed to a Notes 8.0.2 client. Alloy requires an 8.0.2 mail template.

Alloy version 1.0 requires that all Notes and Domino 8.0.2 fix packs and hotfixes be installed, including the latest cumulative hotfix for Notes 8.0.2. You should also install any existing Alloy version 1.0 fix packs and hotfixes on your Notes and Domino systems.

Alloy software by IBM and SAP will support Lotus Notes 8.5 software in 2009.
(Represents IBM plans and directions, which are subject to change without notice)

Fix pack and hotfix information is available at http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral and http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus/support. For additional and related Domino and Notes administration information, see Domino 8.0.2 Administrator help.

Other Alloy install considerations
-- The Alloy server and the Alloy client should not be installed on the same computer; that configuration is not supported.

-- Alloy version 1.0 supports Notes single user install only; multi-user install is not currently supported.

-- If you install the Alloy client plug-in using the add-on installer and later want to upgrade to a new release or hotfix using the widget and widgets catalog deployment method, you must first uninstall the Alloy client plug-in and then deploy it using the widget and catalog method. Currently there is no support for upgrade between the two client installation methods.

-- Various system locale considerations are described in Lotus Tech Note 1368305. Additional Tech Notes and Notes and Domino wiki posts capture late-breaking Alloy information and considerations. See the Alloy support page for details.
