Setting up Lotus Quickr 8.0 services on a WebSphere Portal server for use with Workplace Learning 2.7.0.3 , 2.7.0.4 and 2.7.0.5
|
| | | | Problem | | This document contains instructions for setting up IBM Lotus® Quickr™ 8.0 services on an IBM WebSphere® Portal server for use with IBM® Workplace™ Collaborative Learning 2.7.0.3 , 2.7.0.4 and 2.7.0.5 | | | | | Resolving the problem | Assumptions:
-- You already have a Lotus Quickr 8.0 server installed and configured.
-- Your Lotus Quickr 8.0 server must use the same LDAP server as your Workplace Learning 2.7 deployment. Steps required for 2.7.0.3 only :
1. Obtain the ifix, APAR LO31767, from Fix Central at the following link: http://www-933.ibm.com/eserver/support/fixes/fixcentral
2. Apply the ifix to the WCL 2.7.0.3 server which will update required files and templates. Steps to configure Lotus Quickr 8.0 to work with WCL 2.7.0.3 and 2.7.0.4:
The Lotus Quickr files used by the Workplace Learning 2.7 deployment are in the following directories: ...\IBM\WebSphere\PortalServer\Learning\Learning\learningserver\quickr\aafPortlet\aafService.war ...\IBM\WebSphere\PortalServer\Learning\Learning\learningserver\quickr\aafXmlaccess\installAAFServicePortlet.xml and uninstallAAFServicePortlet.xml ...\IBM\WebSphere\PortalServer\Learning\Learning\learningserver\quickr\templates\Course Collaboration.xml
Copy all these files to a local directory on your Lotus Quickr 8.0 server. Reinstalling the AAFService portlet on Lotus Quickr 8.0:
You first uninstall the portlet (if you have an existing version of the AAFService portlet on your Lotus Quickr 8.0 server) and then reinstall it.
1. Start the Lotus Quickr server and do the following: a) Place the XMLAccess scripts, installAAFServicePortlet.xml and uninstallAAFServicePortlet.xml, anywhere on the file system of the Lotus Quickr 8.0 server.
b) Place the portlet WAR file, aafService.war, in the following directory on the Lotus Quickr 8.0 server: ..\IBM\Quickr\PortalServer\installableApps.
2. Log into Lotus Quickr 8.0 as an administrator. -- The link for Lotus Quickr is http://<fqdn>/lotus/quickr, where <fqdn> is the fully qualified domain name of your Lotus Quickr server.
-- If you are using an internal HTTP server, you must use the following port value: http://<fqdn>:10038/lotus/quickr
3. Click Site Administration --> Advanced Administration panel --> navigate to Portal Settings --> Import XML. NOTE: The following step is only necessary if you have an existing version of the AAFService portlet installed on your Lotus Quickr server.
4. From the portlet, browse to the XMLAccess script, uninstall AAFServicePortlet.xml, on your local file system and click Import. Allow the task to complete.
5. From the Import XML portlet, browse to the XMLAccess script, installAAFServicePortlet.xml, on your local file system and click Import. Allow the task to complete.
6.Save the CourseCollaborationGAProperties.zip file (in the Attachment section below) anywhere on the file system of your Lotus Quickr server, and unzip it to the Quickr\PortalServer\wcm\shared\app folder on the Lotus Quickr server. Updating the Learning template for Lotus Quickr 8.0:
1. Restart the Lotus Quickr server and do the following: -- Take the the updated Course Collaboration xml file, Course Collaboration.xml from the following directory,\IBM\webSphere\PortalServer\Learning\Learning\learningserver\quickr\templates\Course Collaboration.xml and place anywhere on the file system of the Lotus Quickr server.
3. Click Work with Templates and export the existing Learning Course Collaboration template. Save it anywhere on your local file system so you have a backup.
4. Click Work with Templates and delete the existing Learning Course Collaboration template.
5. Click Import, browse to the template file, Course Collaboration.xml, on your local file system, and click OK. Allow the task to complete.
It is not necessary to restart the Lotus Quickr server after either step.
Once this is completed, you must then define the Lotus Quickr server as a Collaboration server in the Workplace Learning 2.7 deployment. Defining the Lotus Quickr 8.0 server as a Collaboration server in Workplace Learning 2.7:
1. The link for a Workplace 2.7 deployment is http://<fqdn>/wps/portal.
Start the Workplace 2.7 server and log in as an administrator. If you are using an internal HTTP server, you must use the following port value: http://<fqdn>:10038/wps/portal
2. Select Launch --> Collaborative Learning.
3. Navigate to Learning Management --> Advanced Settings --> Collaboration Servers --> Quickr panel --> Create New to display the following dialog box:
4. Enter the following values: a) Quickr Server Name - a unique value to describe your Lotus Quickr 8.0 server.
b) Description - a description of your Lotus Quickr server (not required).
c) Administrator Name - the administrator's user name used to log into your Lotus Quickr server.
d) Password - the password of the administrator used to log into your Lotus Quickr server.
e) URL of the Lotus Quickr Portal, http://<fqdn>/lotus/quickr, where <fqdn> is the fully qualified domain name of your Lotus Quickr 8.0 server.
5. Once these values are entered, click Test. If everything is set up correctly, the following pop-up will appear:
6. Click OK to exit the Test dialog box and click Save to save the Lotus Quickr Collaboration server settings. | | | | | | | | |
