Instructions for setting up Sametime as a Workplace Learning 2.7 server

 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem
The IBM Workplace Collaborative Services® Information Center is missing the installation instructions for setting up Lotus Sametime® as an IBM® Workplace™ Collaborative Learning 2.7 server and configuring Sametime to work with Workplace Learning.
These instructions are included in this document.

For other information about Workplace, refer to the Workplace Information Center.

Resolving the problem
Follow these steps to set up.
1. Install Sametime and configure it to use LDAP authentication. The Sametime server will use the same LDAP server as the Workplace Learning 2.7 server so the settings should be the same in both servers. Refer to the Sametime Online Help for details of how to configure LDAP authentication.

2. With IBM WebSphere_Portal® running, go to the link, http://<server_name>:10027/ibm/console, and navigate to Security --> Global Security --> Authentication Mechanisms --> LTPA. From here, enter a path and file name in the "Key file name" field and click Export Keys.

3. Retrieve the file you exported from the location you specified in Step 2 and copy it to the Sametime server machine. The file will be found on the Workplace Learning 2.7 server machine, not on your local client machine.

4. Import the LTPA key file into the Lotus Domino server's Web Single Sign-On (SSO) Configuration Document. If the Web SSO Configuration Document does not exist, you must create one. Details for these procedures can be found in the Domino Online Help, topic entitled "Single sign-on".
NOTE: When importing the LTPA token, you will be prompted for a password. This is the value you specified for "LTPA Password" when enabling LDAP security for the WebSphere Portal server.

5. With WebSphere_Portal running, go to http://<server_name>/wps/portal and navigate to Launch --> Collaborative Learning --> Advanced Settings --> Collaboration Servers --> Sametime.

6. Click Create New and enter the following details:
-- Sametime Virtual Classroom Server Name: Any descriptive name.
-- Administrator: The Sametime administrator or any LDAP user with permission to create meetings on the Sametime server.
-- Password: The password of the above user.
-- URL of the Sametime eMeeting Service:
      http://<sametime_server>/servlet/meeting
