How to design crosstabs with a fixed column width

Troubleshooting

Problem

Several subsequent crosstabs are supposed to look like a single crosstab when positioned on top of each other. For that reason, the column widths need to be alike. The width of each crosstab cell needs to be defined with a fix absolute length unit in order to not change when the browser window of HTML reports is re-sized.

Resolving The Problem

Making use of blocks avoids an adaption of the cell width when long cell contents occur.

Steps:

  • Drag two different crosstabs into the report page.
  • Drag the data items for lines, columns, and measure into the crosstabs.
(number of data items for the columns should be equal for all tables)
  • Unlock the report.
  • Drag blocks from the toolbox into the crosstab's node cells and fact cells.
  • Define a width for the blocks using a length unit (e.g. inch, cm...) or pixel size.
  • Drag the cell content into the blocks.
