Processor:
Minimum -
3 GHz Dual Intel Pentium D or compatible.

Memory:
Minimum -
2 GB RAM, 2 GB Virtual Memory.

Recommended-
4 GB RAM, 2 GB Virtual Memory

Disk Space:
200 MB in the 'Documents and Settings' folder

Network Interface Card (NIC):
Minimum -
1 NIC - 100Mbps

Recommended-
1 NIC - 1 Gbps
Operating System:
Only supported on the following Windows 32-bit, X86 architectures:

Windows XP Professional SP 1, or later

Windows 2003 SP 1, or later
  • Standard Server
  • Enterprise Server
  • Storage Server
  • Storage R2 Server

Windows Server 2008
  • Standard
  • Enterprise
  • Datacenter
  • Web Server

The Boot and Windows OS partitions must be formatted in NTFS for all versions.













* 2008 only supported on FastBack version 5.5.5 or later
Note: The required repository size is three times the data size the server is backing up. It is recommended to have a repository size up to five times the original data size. The recommended maximum repository size per FastBack Server is 40TB.

  • IA64 - Itanium
FastBack is a solution intended for data size under four terabytes (4TB).

FastBack 5.5.4 will only work with Outlook 2003 installed, but previous versions of Fastback will work with Outlook 2000.



FastBack For Bare Machine Recovery

  • FastBack Recovery CD must Be created on Windows 32 bit OS.
  • Supported up to PE 2.1 (PE 2008)
  • FastBack For Bare Machine Recovery (BMR) requires you to create a FastBack BMR CD before you can perform recovery.

An additional 30 GB free disk space (minimum). Requirements increase as historical data is gathered and stored.

At least 10GB free space should be available in the home directory where the historical data is stored.

1 NIC - 1 Gbps
Operating System:
IBM Tivoli Common Reporting, version 1.2
Fix pack 1

FastBack Server:
Version 5.5.4 or later
The FastBack Reporting must be installed on same machine as the FastBack Server.
Note: FastBack Reporting requires that you install IBM® Tivoli Common Reporting, Version 1.2, Fix Pack 1. All hardware requirements for Tivoli Common Reporting, Version 1.2, Fix Pack 1 must be met before you install Tivoli Common Reporting and FastBack Reporting.
