Abstract
This document details the system requirements for IBM® Maximo Asset Management
 
Content
Client Workstation:

This is the workstation where end users access and work with Maximo.

SVGA 1024 x 768 resolutionAdobe® Acrobat® Reader® 6.0 or 7.0
Note: The Maximo Workflow Designer requires a Java™ Runtime Environment (currently supported are JRE® 1.4.2 through JRE 1.5).

The Workflow Designer checks for the JRE on the administrative workstation. If it does not find the JRE, Workflow Designer prompts you to install JRE 1.4.2-b28.

Administrative Workstation:

The system administrator workstation is where you install the Maximo application and build the EAR files before deploying them.

Application Server:

The server where you install the IBM WebSphere or the BEA WebLogic Application Server and typically, where you deploy Maximo EAR files.

2 GB RAM per processor IBM AIX® 5.3 (32-bit and 64-bit)
1.5 GB (or greater) disk space for Maximo and the Java/Web Server components Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 4 (32-bit and 64-bit)
Sun® Solaris® 9 or Sun Solaris 10 (SPARC processor-based systems

Note: You cannot use the Sun Solaris operating systems if you are running Maximo 7.1 on an IBM DB2® Universal Database.

IBM WebSphere® 6.1.0.13 (provided by IBM Corporation)

BEA WebLogic® Server 9.2.2 (provided by the vendor)


Database Server:

The server is where you install database software to create and maintain your Maximo database. You are responsible for maintaining database platform software.

See vendor documentation for hardware specifications. IBM DB2 Universal Database 8.2.0.8 or 9.1.5
    • Workgroup or Enterprise Edition
    • Configured for TCP/IP support
      Oracle® 9.2.0.8 , 10.1.0.5, 10.2.0.3 or 11g*
    • Standard or Enterprise Edition
      Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP2
    • Standard or Enterprise Edition



    (*Oracle 11g only supported with 7.1.1.5 Fix Pack only.)

Reporting ToolBIRT Version 2.1.2 is embedded with Maximo 7.1. It does not require a separate server.
