Symphony is unable to open password-protected files when using Turkish locale

Abstract
This technote describes an issue with opening password-protected IBM Lotus Symphony files when using a Turkish locale on Microsoft Windows XP or Linux operating systems.

You are running Lotus Symphony on a Turkish locale. When you attempt to open a password-protected file, the following error will appear even though you entered the correct password:

    "An error occurred while loading this document. The password was entered incorrectly or the process was canceled."





This issue has been reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# XYGU7PZ3GS and has been fixed in Symphony 1.3.


Workaround
Currently the only workaround is to not password-protect Symphony files when using versions prior to 1.3 with Turkish locale on Windows XP or Linux.
