IBM Rational AppScan Standard and Express Edition Version 7.8.0.1 now available

Version 7.8 included many new features. This fix pack includes bug fixes to Version 7.8 as well as language support in both user interface and documentation for French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.

This is a full version of the product, and can be used to update an existing version or to install the product for the first time. It optionally includes GSC (Generic Server Client) for scanning Web Services.

Hardware and software requirements are listed in the Getting Started Guide and main User Guide that are included in the download package at IBM Fix Central. These documents are also available at the IBM Publications Center.

After downloading the installation pack to your computer, double-click on the Setup Launcher and follow the simple online instructions.

The download package is available at IBM Fix Central (link below):

1. Select these filters:
   
   - Product Group: Rational
   - Product: IBM Rational AppScan Standard Edition
   - Installed Version: 7.8.0.0
   - Platform: Windows
   
   
2. Click Continue.
   
   
3. On the Identify Fixes page, leave the default setting (All Fixes), and click Continue.
   
   
4. Select the first result on the page: RASS-Windows-7.8.0.1-Fixpack1
   
   
5. At the bottom of the page select a download method:
   
   - Download using Download Director, or
   - Download using your browser (HTTP)
   
   
6. Click Continue. Two downloads are displayed:
   
   - 7.8.0.1-AppScan_Setup.exe (230.32 MB)
   - 7.8.0.1-GSC_Setup.exe (263.65 MB)
   
   
7. If you will be scanning Web Services, select both. If you will be scanning only regular applications, select the first checkbox only. Then click Download Now.
