IBM Lotus Quickr Version 8.1.1 (Linux on x86) Updated 10/01/2009 This page describes the minimum product levels that need to be installed before opening a problem report with the IBM Lotus Quickr Support team. Because other products frequently ship fixes, updates, and new releases, testing every configuration is not possible. In general, you can install and run with updates to supported products if those updates are forward compatible. The list below identifies the supported products that work with IBM Lotus Quickr on a Linux on x86 operating system.The supported product can run, but does not need to run, on the same machine or operating system where IBM Lotus Quickr runs. Check product-specific software requirements to determine whether software runs native or connected to IBM Lotus Quickr.

- Connector 8.0 clients connecting to 8.0.0.2 or higher servers is not supported. Any 8.0 clients must install the new connectors when connecting to a higher-level server. When an 8.0 client connects to an 8.0.0.2 or higher server, the client receives a "server version not compatible" error message. The client must then upgrade to the 8.0.0.2 version. Once upgraded, the client will continue to work with older (8.0.x) servers.The following versions are supported:
- Lotus Quickr 8.0 only supports 8.0 connector versions.
- Lotus Quickr 8.0.0.2 supports 8.0.0.2, and 8.1 connector versions. An 8.0.0.2 or 8.1 connector is required to use 8.0.0.2 Lotus Quickr features.
- Lotus Quickr 8.1 supports 8.1 connector versions. Connector versions 8.0.0.2 and 8.0 are also supported, but support is limited to function supported at that Connector level.
- Lotus Quickr 8.1.1 supports 8.1.1 connector versions. Connector versions 8.1 and 8.0.0.2 are also supported, but support is limited to function supported at that Connector level.

Required details:
1. Bit-Architecture Supported: Lotus Quickr and WebSphere Application Server = 32-bit mode only; Operating System = 32-bit only. Workstation and Desktop are only supported as Developer platforms. Productivity Components require X11 R6 libraries in addition to the following libraries: openmotif, openmotif21-libs, openmotif-devel, openmotif-libs. Set the system-wide maximum open files number to 10240 before running the Lotus Quickr installation program. This may be accomplished by root invoking ulimit -n 10240. Some systems may require a reboot before this value takes effect. Consult your operating system manual. When installing the WebSphere Application Server Deployment Manager on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Version 4 Update 4, you may receive a warning that a supported operating system was not found; you can ignore this warning and continue with the installation.
3. When a portlet uses STLinks for awareness, the browsers, client platforms, and versions of Java Virtual Machine supported for awareness in that portlet may be different from those supported by the portlet itself. The applet supports only the browsers, client platforms, and versions of JVM or other Java software supported by the release of Lotus Sametime running on the server configured for Collaborative Services in Lotus Quickr. If that release is Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing 6.5.1, the browser releases are:
Internet Explorer Version 6.0 with the following Java and operating system software:
- Sun JVM 1.4.1 on Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional SP3 or Microsoft Windows XP Professional
- Internet Explorer Version 5.5 with the following Java and operating system software:

10e. To use Lotus Domino Version 7.0 with WebSphere Application Server, you must install the Web Server plug-in for Lotus Domino Server Version 6 which is a part of the Web Server plug-in for WebSphere Application Server 6.1

13. For 7.0.2 & 7.0.1: Apply SPR KLIN6LRTHJ to be able to return Groups and Users by direct lookup.
For 6.5.5 & 6.5.4, Apply SPR LORN6FKK9Q to be able to return Groups and Users by direct lookup.
23. Known Limitation -- JRE 1.4.1_07 crashes Firefox 2.0 browser when creating an authoring template.
24. The Web browsers were tested by IBM on servers that support the following client operating systems or desktop products:
