Abstract
Lotus Quickr 8.2 services for Lotus Domino requires that you enable the Domino Servlet Engine. If you do not, your users might see blank pages or the JavaScript error "Object expected."

After you install or upgrade to Lotus Quickr 8.2 services for Lotus Domino, users report that they see blank pages in a place. Or they see the following JavaScript error in their Web browser:

    "Object expected"

Cause

Lotus Quickr 8.2 services for Lotus Domino requires that you enable the Domino Servlet Engine. It is not enabled by default. This must be enabled to use Lotus Quickr Entry or Place Administration and to ensure that the Lotus Quickr home page does not display empty.

Resolving the problem

The steps to enable the Domino Servlet Manager can be found in the Information Center topic "Enabling the Domino Servlet Engine"; the steps are repeated below for your convenience.


    1. From IBM Lotus Notes® or the Domino Administrator, open the Domino Directory (names.nsf) on the server.
    2. Open the Server document.
    3. Click Internet Protocols > Domino Web Engine.
    4. Below Java Servlets, select Domino Servlet Manager in the Java servlet support field.
    5. Save and close the document.

After making these changes, you need to restart the HTTP task (enter restart task http on the server console) for them to take effect.
