Required post-install fixes for Lotus Quickr 8.1 services for WebSphere Portal

Abstract
After you upgrade to or install Lotus® Quickr™ 8.1 services for WebSphere® Portal, you should apply the following interim fixes and configuration step to ensure complete product functionality and improvement.

Fixes for Lotus Quickr are made available on IBM Fix Central. The Fix Central site includes information about any prerequisites and co-requisite fixes.

The following fix is required for all Lotus Quickr 8.1 installations:

    Configuration step

The following configuration step is required for all Lotus Quickr 8.1 installations:

1. Stop the Quickr 8.1 Server:
a. Open a command prompt and change to the following directory:
b. Enter the following command:
  • Linux: ./stopServer.sh WebSphere_Portal -user admin_userid -password admin_password
  • Windows: stopServer.bat WebSphere_Portal -user admin_userid -password admin_password

2. Run <WPS_HOME>/config/WPSconfig.bat apply-pk55493 

3. Start the Quickr 8.1 Server
a. Before starting the Lotus Quickr application server, you must have all required servers running. Make sure that the following servers and components, if applicable, are started:
  • Database
  • LDAP server
  • An external Web server
  • WebSphere Application Server
  • The WebSphere_Portal enterprise application

b. Open a command prompt and change to the following directory:
c. Enter the following command:
  • Linux: ./startServer.sh WebSphere_Portal
  • Windows: startServer.bat WebSphere_Portal



    For high load environments

The following fixes are important to apply to Lotus Quickr servers that will be running under high load and in cluster deployments. Note: Make sure that you run the WPSconfig.bat apply-pk55493 task mentioned above before applying the following patches.
