IBM XL C++ Advanced Edition V6.0 Runtime Environment for Mac OS X component
 
Download Description
The IBM XL C++ Advanced Edition V6.0 Runtime Environment for Mac OS X is available as a stand-alone component if you do not have the IBM XL C/C++ Advanced Edition V6.0 for Mac OS X compiler installed. Without an installed compiler, you must have the IBM XL C++ Advanced Edition V6.0 Runtime Environment for Mac OS X installed in order to run an application developed with the IBM XL C/C++ Advanced Edition V6.0 for Mac OS X compiler.

The Download Package section below provides links to the component's README as well as to the Disk Image (.dmg) containing the Runtime Environment.

The Disk Image (.dmg) contains the following:

    - README
    - LicenseAgreement.pdf
    - LicenseInformation.pdf
    - packages/vacpp.rte.mpkg


The vacpp.rte.mpkg contains:

    - vacpp.rte.pkg (XL C++ runtime libraries)
 
Prerequisites
The XL C++ runtime environment requires Mac OS X 10.2 or 10.3.
 
 
Installation Instructions
Complete the following steps to install the IBM XL C++ Advanced Edition V6.0 Runtime Environment for Mac OS X component:

  1. You must deinstall any XL C++ beta or evaluation runtime packages before installing this component.

  2. Download and open the vacpp.rte.60.macosx.jun2005.update.dmg disk image.

  3. To install the packages from the command line:


    4. /usr/sbin/installer -pkg /Volumes/ibmvacpprte/packages/vacpp.rte.mpkg -target / -dumplog


To install the packages from GUI, go to the packages directory in the disk image. Double-click the vacpp.rte.mpkg package and follow the install instructions.

Deinstallation Instructions
If you do not have any applications that require the IBM XL C/C++ Advanced Edition V6.0 Runtime Environment for Mac OS X component, deinstall the packages as follows:

/bin/rm -rf /Library/Receipts/vacpp.rte.pkg
/bin/rm -f /opt/ibmcmp/lib/libibmc++.*.dylib
