Abstract


Installing Webtop Fix Pack 7 and above on Windows machines, with TBSM 4.1.1 pre-installed, may prevent TBSM from starting.

TBSM relies on the Netcool Guifoundation values in the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Apache Software Foundation\Procrun 2.0\NCGFServer\. Some Webtop Fix Packs, which upgrade NGF, can replace the key with the default NGF starter values, thus removing the required TBSM values. The result is that TBSM does not start when the Netcool Guifoundation Server is started.

The issue will be fixed in APAR IZ47956 for TBSM.

The workaround is to backup the registry key before installing Webtop Fix Pack 7 or higher, and re-instate afterwards. Support can provide scripts to assist in this regard until the APAR is completed.
