Installing IBM Tivoli Integration Composer 7.2 with backwardly compatible products

Installing Integration Composer from the support site
Integration Composer 7.2 can be installed as a download from the IBM Support site or installed from the Tivoli Asset Management for IT 7.2 launchpad. Although the launchpad installation is recommended for installing Integration Composer 7.2, at this time the launchpad is only available for customers who have installed Tivoli Asset Management for IT 7.2. Everyone else should install Integration Composer 7.2 from the support site.
To obtain the download package for Integration Composer 7.2 from the IBM Support site, go to the Maximo Base Services 7.1.1.5 Fix Pack page at the following location and download ITIC 7.2.0.0- Windows or ITIC 7.2.0.0- UNIX, depending on your operating system:
The download package provides the installation and administration documentation (including the PDF provided in this technote) plus downloadable setup files for installing the new release on Windows® and UNIX® operating systems. Also provided: a PMP file that updates your Maximo database tables with text strings used by the Integration Composer user interface. Installing these updates is required in order to run Integration Composer 7.2.
For customers using the new Integration Composer with backwardly compatible products, Integration Composer 7.2 offers the following advantages over the previous release:
o Performance improvements in the Integration Composer engine (which moves data from the discovery tool database to the Maximo® database)
o Bidirectional language support
o A Naming and Reconciliation Service component which generates globally unique identifiers that centralize asset identification and help resolve asset duplication
Integration Composer 7.2 backward compatibility
Several different Tivoli products and product combinations can use Integration Composer 7.2 to import data. Although Integration Composer 7.2 is backward compatible with these products, integration adapters and their associated data schemas and mappings might not be. Table 1 in the attached PDF shows the products or product combinations that can use Integration Composer 7.2, where to install it from, and what integration adapters to use.
If you are doing all three of the following, you should continue using the data schemas and mappings provided with your 7.1 integration adapters:
1) Installing Integration Composer 7.2
2) Using a Base Services 7.1.1.5 fix pack level of one of the following products:
o Asset Management for IT 7.1.0.5
o Service Request Manager 7.1.0.4
o Change and Configuration Management Database 7.1.1.5
3) Not installing Tivoli Asset Management for IT 7.2
