Question

What is the procedure for installing CCMDB after a deployment of IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager?

Answer

Complete the following steps to successfully install CCMDB after an IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager deployment:
1. Install IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager 7.1.1 as directed in the product installation information.

2. Ensure that all database changes have been applied
a. Stop the MXServer WebSphere Application Server profile, either from command line or
using the WebSphere Application Server console.

WAS_HOME/profiles/ctgAppSrv01/bin/stopServer.sh
MXServer
--username was_user
-password was_pwd

where was_user is the WebSphere Application Server administrator user name and
was_pwd is the WebSphere Application Server administrator password.

b. Run TPM_HOME/maximo/tools/maximo/configdb.sh

c. Run TPM_HOME/maximo/tools/maximo/restorefrombackup.sh

d. Run TPM_HOME/maximo/tools/maximo/dropbackup.sh

e. Run TPM_HOME/maximo/tools/maximo/dropbackup.sh again.

f. Start the MXServer WebSphere Application Server profile.

3. Enable non-SSL port
a. Add a non-SSL port manually:

i. Login to WebSphere administrative console
ii. Navigate to Environment -> Virtual Hosts -> maximo_host -> Host Aliases
iii. Click New
iv. Input the following values:
Host Name: *
Port: 80 (or your HTTP port)
v. Click OK and then click Save
vi. Restart IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager
vii. Verify that you can connect to Maximo without the secured port:
hostname/maximo

b Stop IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager light weight infrastructure:
TIO_HOME\lwi\bin\lwistop.cmd

c. Stop MXServer the MXServer WebSphere Application Server

4. Install CCMDB 7.1.1
a. Extract the binary

b. Run the following command from a command prompt
set SKIPCHANGEPMP=yes

c. Run the CCMDB installation program from the same command prompt
i. Change to the installation directory
cd <binary_directory>\CCMDB
ii. Run install.exe (or install_win64.exe for 64-bit platforms)
iii. Choose a language
iv. Accept the license
v. Choose to Upgrade to CCMDB
vi. Provide TADDM server information
vii. Select "Do not run the configuration step now"
viii. Review input values and start install
On the final installation panel, you will receive an error reading CTGIN2371E: The
installation is finished, but some serious errors occurred during the install. This message can be safely ignored.
ix. Exit the GUI installer

d. Verify the following directory contains config.xml and SyncTADDMLaunchEntries.xml:
C:\ibm\smp\maximo\applications\maximo\meaweb\webmodule\WEB
-INF\MeaRegistrationFiles\taddm.

If the directory does not exist or the files are not present copy them from
C:\IBM\SMP\maximo\tools\maximo\mxintegration\taddm directory
to the
C:\ibm\smp\maximo\applications\maximo\meaweb\webmodule\WEB
-INF\MeaRegistrationFiles\taddm
directory. You might need to create the destination directory.

e. Update the SyncTADDMLaunchEntries.xml file that was copied:
i. Modify all occurrences of $taddmWebLaunchHostname$ with your TADDM server hostname (for example, comp1.ibm.com)
ii. Modify all occurrences of $taddmWebLaunchPort$ with TADDM Web Port = 9430
iii. Modify all occurrences of $taddmServerPort$ with TADDM server port = 9530

f. From the same command prompt where you originally started the install, run the following
command:
<CCMDB_HOME>\scripts\taskrunner CONTINUE STOPONERROR

5. Install the CCMDB 7.1.1.5 fixpack using the instructions found in the Readme for the fixpack

6. Optionally disable the non-SSL port.
a. Remove a non-SSL port manually
i. Login to WebSphere administrative console
ii. Navigate to Environment -> Virtual Hosts -> maximo_host -> Host Aliases
iii. Select the host alias with port 80
iv. Click Delete
v. Click Save
vi. Restart IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager

b. Start TPM-lwi
TIO_HOME\lwi\bin\lwistart.cmd
