Impact 7.1.0.0 IF0001 Instructions.
This fix resolves the following items:
1) Fixes the missing Seasonality files for the Impact GUI Server in a Netcool Operations Insight (NOI) split install (GUI Server only). It is not required for a combined GUI Server and Impact server install.(IBM Internal defect 46214)
2) Fixes the deploy policy function. (IBM Internal defect 46216)
Notes and Limitations
- When installing iFix0001 on a Netcool Operations Insight (NOI) Combined installation (GUI Server, Impact Server and Extensions existing under the same install directory), ensure that only the Impact Server component (iFix 0001 for Impact Server 7.1.0.0) is selected. For this case, all the Seasonality files for Event Analytics are already installed on the machine. In this scenario only, if you install this fix with the GUI Server component selected, the update installer will fail with "duplicate files" errors.
- After applying the iFix0001 to an Impact GUI Server, the Impact Extensions for Netcool Operations Insight (NOI) cannot be installed in the same directory where the Impact GUI Server is installed. You must install Impact Extensions for NOI in a different directory.
Run the iFix update in GUI or Console mode
1) From the command line prompt, run either update_gui.sh or update_console.sh
2) From the Installation Manager menu, select Update
3) Select IBM Tivoli Netcool Impact Package
4) Select the appropriate packages for your installation:
Combined Install (GUI Server and Impact Server):
iFix 0001 for Impact Server 7.1.0.0
Split Install (GUI Server only):
iFix 0001 for Impact GUI Server 7.1.0.0
Split Install (Impact Server only):
iFix 0001 for Impact Server 7.1.0.0
Run the iFix update in Silent mode
1) Open the sample install response file located in the responsefile directory and edit the following:
- Specify the full path to ImpactRepository under the iFix image
- Change the default profile id and installation location for your
environment.
2) From the command line prompt, run
./update_silent.sh responsefiles/silentIFixUpdate_response.xml
3) If the silent installation runs successfully, you should see the following output messages:
Installed com.ibm.tivoli.impact.gui_server.ifix0001_7.1.0.0 to the /opt/IBM/tivoli/impact directory.
Installed com.ibm.tivoli.impact.server.ifix0001_7.1.0.0 to the /opt/IBM/tivoli/impact directory.
Uninstall the iFix in GUI or Console mode
1) Launch the IBM Installation Manager in
GUI mode:
non-root
$HOME/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/launcher
root user
/opt/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/launcher
Console mode:
non-root
$HOME/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/tools/imcl -c
root user
/opt/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/tools/imcl -c
2) Select uninstall
3) Complete the wizard to remove the fix from the system
Uninstall the iFix in Silent mode
1) Open the sample uninstall response file located in the responsefile directory and edit the following:
- Change the default profile id and installation location for your
environment.
2) Run
non-root
$HOME/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/tools/imcl -silent input <uninstall_response_path>
root user
/opt/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/tools/imcl -silent input <uninstall_response_path>
