Abstract

Support for ITNM IP 3.8.0 on SLES 11 x86-32 and x86-64.

IBM Tivoli Network Manager IP Edition 3.8.0 is now supported on SLES 11 x86-32 and x86-64 platform.


IMPORTANT:
===========
It is possible to install ITNM IP 3.8.0 on SLES 11 Linux x86, providing you override the pre-requisite check in the installer.

To disable the pre-requisite checking in the installer, create a file called /tmp/.noPrqchk before running the ITNM IP 3.8.0 installer. It does not matter what the contents of the file are, so a simple way to do this is to type:

touch /tmp/.noPrqchk

This will stop the installer pre-requisite check from failing on SLES 11.

However, it is important to note that by completely disabling the pre-requisite check in this way, you will not be warned of other problems that could potentially affect the operation of the product, for example, disk space, system memory or operating system library versions. Therefore, before installing ITNM IP 3.8.0 on SLES 11, take extra care to manually ensure that you meet all the product pre-requisites documented in the ITNM IP 3.8.0 installation guide.
