ALERT: Build Forge product image delivered in 2 ZIP files

Abstract
You must download both ZIP files to a temp directory. Extract the contents of the first zip file to the temp directory and then extract the contents of the second zip file to the temp directory.
 
Content
The following instructions are replicated in the readme.txt file that is included at the root level of the installation media; it is also downloaded with the product images.
Due to a zip file size limitation of 2 GBs, there are two zip files that must be unzipped to create a complete installation image before you run the launchpad program and create the Build Forge installation directory.

Important: If you purchased the Rational Automation Framework for WebSphere (RAFW) product as a component of Rational Build Forge and want to automatically install RAFW when you install Rational Build Forge, you must set the RAFW_ENABLED=yes environment variable at an OS command prompt before you run the launchpad program.

To create the Build Forge installation directory, do the following:

ENTERPRISE PLUS EDITION
  1. Unzip the two zip files named bf711ep1.zip and bf711ep2.zip to the same directory.
  2. Follow the installation instructions in the Installation Guide or Quick Start Guide to start the installation.


STANDARD EDITION/ENTERPRISE EDITION
  1. Unzip the two zip files named bf711se1.zip and bf711se2.zip to the same directory.
  2. Follow the installation instructions in the Installation Guide or Quick Start Guide to start the installation.


UPGRADE

In order to upgrade from the zip files or DVD. Follow these steps:
  1. Open up a local Installation Manager installation

  2. Go to File > Preferences

  3. Click Add Repository

  4. Click the Browse button and navigate to the diskTag.inf file at the root of the DVD or extracted zip file directory

  5. Click OK

  6. Proceed with your upgrade by clicking on Update and proceed with the Build Forge upgrade.
