ClearQuest incorrectly saving dates with an inverted day and month

Dates are saved to records with the month and day inverted. For example, you apply this date:

April 8th, 2009 (2009-04-08)

The record is saved with this date instead:

August 4th, 2009 (2009-08-04)

This problem only occurs for the first 12 days of every month. For this example, it occurs April 1st through April 12th. April 13th, 2009 through the end of that month is saved correctly. This problem occurs if you have configured the form control of the field to display in short date format.

This problem only affects environments where the date format in the operating system Regional Options has been set to anything other than "English US" or "China", where the date format is set to dd/mm/yyyy. For example, "English UK" or "France". If the date separator is a dot (such as in Germany), the problem does not arise.

Known Defect

This issue has been identified as a product defect under APAR PK91189. This defect is under investigation. There is no permanent fix at this time.

Affected Clients

• ClearQuest client for Windows - Versions 7.1.0.0, 7.1.0.1, and 7.1.0.2.
• ClearQuest client (Eclipse RCP) - Version 7.1.0.2

WORKAROUNDS

• Change the date format to "English US" on workstations and Web servers where ClearQuest is installed.
• Instead of using a date-time form control which shows the short date, you can configure the date-time control to display the long date. This problem does not exist when using this format.
