Validation mode loses application's variable definitions and shared libraries. System/hidden apps prevent deletion of clone.
PK78206 resolves the following problem:
This APAR fixes the issue of variable definitions and shared libraries not being copied to the clone cluster during validation, it also adds checks during cancel validation for system and hidden applications.
All users of WebSphere Extended Deployment
Validation mode loses applications variable definitions and shared libraries. System/hidden applications prevent deletion of clone.
When application was placed in validation mode any shared libraries and variable definitions defined on it were not being copied over to the cloned target. Also, during cancel validation a check was made to make sure the cloned cluster is empty before it is deleted, system and hidden applications were not ignored during this check which prevented cloned clusters from being deleted.
Shared libraries and variable definitions are copied to the clone target when an application is placed in deployment mode. During cancel validation on a cluster, any system/hidden applications existing on the cluster are ignored when checks are made to ensure the cluster is empty.
