APAR status

Error description

  • Schema validation does not fail text ending with CR/LF despite
    defined Schema restriction.
    For example this pattern does not allow for any white space:
    xsd:pattern value="[1-3][0-9]"
    
    
    With CR/LF at the end of text being validated, there was no
    validation failure.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Affected is Schema validation with pattern restriction.
    
    Schema validation does not fail text ending with CR/LF despite
    of defined Schema restriction.
    
    There was a mistake in translation of SCRE (Schema regular
    expression) to PCRE (Perl compatible regular expression).
    

Problem conclusion

  • The SCRE to PCRE translation has been fixed.
    
    Fix is available in 3.7.3.15, 3.8.0.9 and 3.8.1.7.
