Prerequisites

To browse the published content, you need a web server capable of deploying WAR files. Rational Team Concert includes a web server that can be used for this purpose. You also require a Rational Method Composer reader license for each user who browses this material.

To customize the asset, you require Rational Method Composer version 7.5.2 or later.

Installation Instructions

Each solution has two parts: a <solution_name>.war file, which can be deployed to a web server, and a library file, which can be customized with IBM Rational Method Composer. For the systems engineering solutions, a single library is provided, which includes all the system engineering solution plug-ins.

Browsing the solution

The .war file for each solution is intended for deployment to a web server. However, if you just want to browse the web site locally on your computer, you can do so. A .war file can be renamed as a .zip file and extracted with standard utilities.
To browse the unzipped website, open the index.htm file in the top folder with your browser.

Deploying the WAR File to a Jazz Server

Prerequisites:
a. You have installed Rational Team Concert, using the default Tomcat web server.
b. You have started the Jazz Team Server
c. You have write access to the Jazz server install folders, for example, C:\Program Files\IBM\jazzteamserver.

1. Copy the <solution_name>.war file to the Tomcat server webapps folder, for example, C:\Program Files\IBM\jazzteamserver\server\tomcat\webapps.
This action automatically deploys the WAR file as a website.

2. Browse the solution website, which is deployed at https://<server_name>:<port>/<application_name>.

For example, if you have installed the Jazz server on your local computer and deployed he clm.war file, then you can browse this site: localhost:9443/clm

3. The solution website provides instructions for the remaining setup. Click Getting Started > Tools Setup and Configuration.
The instructions include steps to import process and work item templates into the Jazz environment and to create projects that use the templates.

Customizing the Solution using Rational Method Composer

To customize the solution website:

1. Download the appropriate library .zip file (either the CLM library or the Systems Solutions library).
2. Extract the file.
3. Open the library by using Rational Method Composer version 7.5.2.1 or later.

Each solution library is based on the IBM Practices Library version 7.5.2.1, but with some practices added, some changed, and some removed. You can merge solution libraries by importing each set of library files in sequence, and by allowing duplicate files to be overwritten.
