APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • WebSphere Process Server and WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus
    custom profiles in a Network Deployment 7 environment are
    missing the IPC_CONNECTOR_ADDRESS endpoint definition in
    serverindex.xml

    When starting the server the following error can be seen in the
    logs:
    ADMC0069E:
    The endpoint definition is empty for the IPC connector; the IPC
    connector will not be available

Local fix

  • Manually add the IPC_CONNECTOR_ADDRESS via the Adminconsole

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Process Server and WebSphere *
    *                 Enterprise Service Bus versions 7.0.0.1      *
    *                 and 7.0.0.2.                                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Exception ADMC0069E: The endpoint *
    * definition is empty for the IPC *
    * connector; the IPC connector will not *
    *                      be available                            *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When starting a WebSphere Process Server or a WebSphere
    Enterprise Service Bus Server in a Network Deployment
    environment, the following error can be seen in the logs:
    ADMC0069E: The endpoint definition is empty for the IPC
    connector; the IPC connector will not be available. It is
    because WebSphere Process Server or a WebSphere Enterprise
    Service Bus Server in a Network Deployment environment is
    missing the IPC_CONNECTOR_ADDRESS endpoint.

Problem conclusion

  • For new profiles, updated server templates for both the
    WebSphere Process Server and the WebSphere Enterprise Service
    Bus to include the missing endpoint. On existing profiles,
    the servers needs to be updated by following technical note
    instruction at
    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21427959
