Abstract
This document highlights how Daylight Saving Time (DST) changes will affect WebSphere MQ Everyplace and details what actions need to be taken.

The Daylight Saving Time changes covered are:

Changes starting in 2007:

USA, Canada, Bermuda and Bahamas changes beginning in 2007 (Start Date: Second Sunday of March, End Date: First Sunday of November).

New Zealand (Start Date: 30th September 2007, End Date: 6th April 2008)

Venezuela (Time zone change from UTC-4 to UTC-4:30 on 9th December 2007)

Argentina (Start Date: 30th December 2007, End Date: 16th March 2008)

Changes which started in 2006:

Western Australia (providing support for DST starting on 3 December 2006).
Brazil (adjusting the DST start date for 2006 and the end date in February 2007).

How do I know if my systems could be affected?
No issues have been identified with IBM WebSphere MQ Everyplace. However, if you run the WebSphere MQ Everyplace Server Support (ES06) SupportPac , you may need to take action. See Below.

What actions do I need to take?
WebSphere MQ Everyplace:

No action is required for IBM WebSphere MQ Everyplace.

WebSphere MQ Everyplace Server Support support (ES06) SupportPac:

For Microsoft Windows 32-bit platform this support pac has been upgraded to include IBM JRE 1.4.2 SR6. This Service Release is DST ready for US and Canada. If you run in Bermuda, Bahamas, Brazil, New Zealand and Western Australia timezones, you require additional updates. These can be applied using the IBM Time Zone Update Utility for Java™.
