Abstract
Apache Geronimo Server V2.1 is a lightweight Open Source-based application server which is certified to the Java™ Enterprise Edition 5 (Java EE 5) specification.

Apache Geronimo provides a platform to support situational as well as multi-tier enterprise applications with no up-front costs.

Apache Geronimo V2.1 is a major release which includes the following significant changes:
  • Custom server assembly capabilities
  • A more flexible administration console
  • A command-line processing environment
  • Enhanced clustering support for Web applications
  • A server monitoring plug-in
