Question
Sun Microsystems is going to sunset Java version 1.4 in the very near future and is encouraging its business customers to migrate to Java SE platform. Will any future versions of Java be supported for RTI 7.5.2 R8 ?
 
Cause
Sun Microsystems to sunset Java version 1.4
 
Answer
There are currently no committed plans to support a future version's of Java for this release of RTI, however we will continue to support this release of RTI with Java version 1.4.
Note that version 8.1 of Information Server (the current released version) works with WebSphere 6.0.2 which is still using Java 1.4.2.

IBM will continue to provide support for Java 1.4.2 until 2013 (except for Solaris and HP-UX) and for WebSphere 6.0 until September of 2010 or until a replacement for the current release is available.
