  IDOC extract stage does not extract foreign characters
  correctly.  In order to process special characters correctly,
  the extended for the columns must be set to unicode.  Currently,
  the customer has to manually modify the columns to set the
  unicode flag in the IDoc Stage.  They need a more permant
  solution that don't require manual modification of the columns.

Problem conclusion

• For the conversion to work, PX needs the Extended attribute of
  the columns to be set to Unicode. The change can be done
  manually by the user. To automate the task, a code change was
  implemented under EC 132655.
