Abstract
This document describes how to download IBM® InfoSphere™ Information Server, Version 8.0.1, for AIX® from the IBM Passport Advantage® Web site.
Download Description
IBM InfoSphere Information Server integrates, enriches, and delivers information that you can trust for key business initiatives. With rich functionality, broad connectivity to heterogeneous sources, and unified metadata, IBM InfoSphere Information Server is a strong foundation for enterprise information architecture.
Disk space requirements
The disk space that you need varies based on the number of product modules that you install. See the IBM Information Server Planning, Installation, and Configuration Guide for more information about space requirements.
Under Download finder options select the Find by part number search option.
Search for each downloadable image by part number.
Download all the required images.
Use a file extracting utility that supports large file extractions to extract each of the images into a single, temporary directory on your system.
Download and open the Quick Start Guide. Follow the instructions to perform the basic installation of the product.
After receiving a proof of entitlement, you will be directed to a suitable location to obtain a license file to be applied during product installation. This license file controls which of the product modules you can install and run. Only the products that you purchased are available for you to install.
After your initial download, if you subsequently purchase an additional product module, you do not need to download the installation image again. You simply need to apply any relevant updates from the support site and apply the updated license file. See the IBM Information Server Planning, Installation, and Configuration Guide for more information about how to apply an updated license.
