End of Service for IBM eService Web Site

Abstract
IBM is committed to providing our customers with reliable technical support worldwide. In an effort to improve our service and provide a more consistent experience across all your IBM software products, we have been integrating the resources on the legacy eService site into the IBM standard support offerings.

On July 20, 2009 the IBM eService web site will reach end of service. This legacy web site was retained after the acquisition of Ascential Software to transition its features over to IBM standard support services. The transition has been completed, and the eService site is no longer required.

This Flash notification documents the transition of all former eService offerings, and their IBM standard equivalents. Please bookmark these locations for your reference. Starting on July 20th, 2009 the URL paths for the eService web site will begin redirecting to this end of service announcement, and the site will go off-line permanently.

Product Licensing

Product license and pricing information for InfoSphere products has been migrated to the following new permanent location. The content remains the same.

Knowledge Base

IBM InfoSphere Information Server and the suite of former-Ascential products (DataStage, QualityStage, etc) have knowledge articles and collections hosted as Technotes in the IBM support system. Defects and enhancement requests are managed as APARs. These resources are available and searchable online, and can be accessed through the product support pages on IBM.com.

FlexLearning

Effective April 1st, 2009, access to the FlexLearning library will be available from the IBM Learner Portal. All current users of FlexLearning should have received an email explaining how to access the IBM Learner Portal system. If you do not have this email, please contact IBM by sending an email to iiseduc@us.ibm.com


Electronic Problem Submission and Resolution

IBM provides electronic access to technical support through the IBM Service Request (SR) tool located at the URL below. Requests for technical support must be opened using the SR Tool or by calling IBM Technical Support via telephone.

Fix Packs, fix rollup patches and interim patches may be downloaded from the IBM Fix Central site at the following link. If you are looking for a patch that cannot be located in Fix Central, please use the Electronic Service Request tool explained previously on this web page to contact IBM Technical Support and obtain the patch.

Notification Subscriptions

IBM Technical Support has a powerful and flexible offering called My Notifications. In addtition to email notifications, RSS feeds (Real Simple Syndication) are also available along with a personalized messages tab on the IBM web site that contains your notifications so you can browse through them.
